About the Role

This casual position based in Whyalla offers variety and purpose, supporting people with disability across different settings.

  • Assist with engaging day programs and activities
  • Promote independence and community inclusion
  • Work collaboratively with a passionate support team
  • Deliver individualised support in clients’ homes
  • Provide overnight respite care as needed

Desired Skills and Experience

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Lived or professional experience supporting people with disability is highly regarded
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work respectfully across diverse backgrounds
  • Comfortable with personal care, mobility support and behaviour management
  • Reliable, flexible and committed to empowering others

What you’ll need before starting

  • Minimum Certificate III in Disability, Individual Support or Community Services (or working towards)
  • Achievement of certain certifications are mandatory requirements for this role; in applying you must be willing to undertake training in fields such as medication management, NDIS Worker Orientation Modules, CPR and others
  • The successful applicant may be required to work Shift Work, In-Home, In-Hub and in other community settings
  • Driver’s licence (minimum P2) and willingness to drive Novita vehicles
  • Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Check

We’re serious about safeguarding our clients. If you don’t have a current NDIS Worker Check and SA Working with Children Check, we’ll let you know how to obtain these prior to starting work with us.

If you are willing to make a career in Disability Sector and ready to undertake Cert III or IV, with no experience, we'd love to see your application.

All Novita employees are required to undertake mandatory training relevant to their role.
