Job Description

Are you a dedicated Clinical Nurse Educator ready to make a significant impact? Join Novita and play a crucial role in developing and delivering high-quality clinical education and competency-based assessments for our disability support workers.

This part-time role (0.5 FTE), is critical in building workforce capability for high-intensity supports and ensuring care aligns with best practices, NDIS Practice Standards, and client goals. You will collaborate closely with various departments to integrate education and risk mitigation strategies across services. This includes:

  • Developing and delivering clinical education programs tailored to high-intensity supports, such as medication administration, PEG feeding, catheter care, seizure management, wound care, and mealtime safety.
  • Conducting training needs assessments informed by audits, incident trends, regulatory changes, and staff feedback.
  • Providing practical mentoring and clinical guidance to disability support workers, supporting reflective practice, skill development, and adherence to scope of practice.
  • Conducting competency assessments of support workers in high-intensity supports in accordance with NDIS Practice Standards.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture by aligning training and support with incident prevention, clinical governance, and quality frameworks.

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will possess the following:

  • Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration.
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience, ideally in disability, community health, or high-intensity care.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Experience in developing and delivering clinical education programs.
  • Strong understanding of disability support, including person-centred care, behaviour support, and managing complex health needs.
  • Solid knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, Quality Indicators and relevant disability legislation, regulations, and standards.
  • Highly developed communication skills, with the ability to engage people from diverse backgrounds and roles.
  • Confident using e-learning platforms and digital tools for training (desirable).

Remuneration Package and Benefits

Total remuneration package includes base salary, annual leave loading and statutory superannuation contribution. Enjoy salary packaging up to $15,900 of your salary, increasing your take-home pay by approximately $5,000. Further salary-packaging benefits available include meal and entertainment expenses, accommodation and venue hire, private novated leasing and additional superannuation contributions.
