For decades Novita Services has been supporting South Australians living with disabilities and we care deeply about clients achieving their goals. In this role, your day will include interpreting and acting upon client’s communication needs, health care plans, administering medications, and mealtime guidelines. You'll be identifying and responding to individual health concerns and recording relevant observations in client diaries. About You

As a Disability Support Worker working at our Clare Hub, you will contribute to the planning and provision of a responsive client and family-centred service providing Hub and In-Home supports. Be an active member of our team in this hands-on role and use your knowledge and experience working with people with physical and intellectual disabilities to promote independent living skills, community participation and relationship building in a safe environment.
As a team player with flexibility, you'll be someone who enjoys communicating with a variety of people, you will utilise your initiative and self-motivation whilst demonstrating your client-centred approach to service delivery.
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and attributes:
- Cleared criminal history checks for working with children and disability services (must be completed prior to employment starting)
- A Certificate III in Individualised Support, Disability or Community Services (willing to complete or enrolled)
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (including CPR)
- Manual Handling Training (for Health Care)
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to communicate with clients, families, staff and care givers
- The ability to maintain a strong client focus in all situations
- An enthusiasm to promote Novita aims and objectives to all clients and the community
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record management and maintenance
- Interpreting and acting upon client’s communication needs, health care plans and meal time guidelines, and identifying and responding to individual health concerns and recording relevant observations in client diaries
- Administering prescribed medication on a needs basis to individual clients and accurately recording the administration of the prescribed medication in accordance with the Health Care Policy
- Work to best practice Work Health & Safety Standards
If you are willing to make a career in Disability Sector and ready to undertake Cert III or IV, with no experience, we'd love to see your application.
All Novita employees are required to undertake mandatory training relevant to their role. Support Workers are paid in accordance with the Social, Community Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 (SCHADS).

Remuneration Package and Benefits
Total remuneration package includes base salary, annual leave loading and statutory superannuation contribution. Enjoy salary packaging up to $15,900 of your salary, increasing your take-home pay by approximately $5,000. Further salary-packaging benefits available include meal and entertainment expenses, accommodation and venue hire, private novated leasing and additional superannuation contributions.
