About Us
Novita provides early intervention, rehabilitation, therapy, assistive technology and disability services to more than 6,000 people living with disability, as well as support for their families and carers. Our primary purpose is to enable kids, young people and adults living with disability and their families to participate in the community to their full potential.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and passionate Service Lead to join our organisation, located in the Northern suburbs. This is a full-time position, on a 12 month contract, with the potential for an extension beyond the initial term.
Reporting to the Manager, Community Living (MCL), our Service Lead positions play a key role in ensuring Community Support Workers are well equipped to deliver the best service to their clients, through coaching, guidance, and mentoring. Service Leads understand the different challenges that people living with disability may face, and the opportunities available to them, so they can provide the appropriate services and staff to meet these needs.
As a Service Lead the primary focus of your role is to:
- Work closely with the MCLs to ensure quality care and support is provided to clients
- Facilitate the delivery of person-centred active support for our high physical need clients
- Focus on improving client outcomes through quality and safeguarding practice leadership
- Use supportive supervision and mentoring technique and practices to implement person centred active support – the ‘go to person’, point of contact to escalate matters to the MCL
- Provide support and direction to staff for day-to-day functions (i.e. ensure appointments are kept, changes are communicated)
- Develop and maintain positive, respectful, and professional rapport and relationships with clients and their families
- Document and report to MCL’s on person centred active support activities in services, areas of success and excellence, areas for improvement and staff/client stories of effective active support
- Report staff performance concerns and support the MCL with coordinating and undertaking performance reviews of CSWs.
This role involves a combination of both performing administration duties, as well as working on the floor with our CSW’s. Ordinary work hours are Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm or hybrid floor shifts depending on client load.
