Job Description

About the Role

Permanent position's available rostered over mornings, afternoons, passive & active shifts over a 7-day week, in our supported independent living accommodation in Murray Bridge.

As a Support Worker your key responsibilities will include:

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record management
  • Interpreting and acting upon client’s communication needs
  • Following Client care plans and mealtime guidelines
  • Identifying and responding to individual health concerns and recording observations in client diaries
  • Administering prescribed medication and accurately recording the information in accordance with the Health Care Policy
  • Ability to identifying and responding to individual health concerns and or record relevant observations

You’ll add value to our clients by:

  • The ability to commit to rostered shifts across our Murray Bridge locations to support our clients
  • Going out and spending time with our clients in the community.

You’ll contribute to our purpose by:

  • Promoting Novita objectives to all clients and the community 
  • Follow all best practice and Work Health & Safety Standards as advised
  • Support our independent clients living in the Murray Bridge area.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

As well as being aligned with Novita’s ICARE values, you will bring:

  • Flexible availability and able to work in a 7 day round the clock roster.
  • Current NDIS Worker and DHS Working with Children clearance’s (or willing to obtain prior to employment) 
  • Certificate III in Individualised Support, Disability, Community Services (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain a certification
  • Current First Aid Certificate (inc CPR)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintaining a strong client focus
  • Willingness to learn and advance your career in the Disability Sector
  • Have a passion to support and care for people with disability. 

We take safeguarding our clients seriously. As such, you must be able to provide evidence that you have received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine (or hold a valid exemption).

How you’ll be rewarded

You'll receive an attractive salary in line with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010. Additionally, you can salary package living expenses, meals and entertainment up to $18,550 Per year, including your take home pay. Further salary Packaging benefits are available.
