Job Description

About You

This casual position is based at our Salisbury location. As the Playgroup Leader you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the planning and implementing a high quality and innovative home visiting program, Kindergym, Parent Education and playgroup program
  • Facilitating discussions and activities that promote opportunities to share, develop parenting skills and also using the Learning Through Play model
  • Planning and structuring families home visits within socio-economic and culturally diverse communities
  • Supporting families in the utilisation of The Mobile Toy Library and Resource Service through home visits
  • Providing a positive environment for children to develop social, cognitive, fine and gross motor skills
  • Ensuring the care and wellbeing of children, parents and carers using all programs provided
  • Bringing parents, carers and children together to participate in discussions and activities, that provide an opportunity to share and develop skills

Desired Skills and Experience

Knowledge, skills and experience

  • Knowledge and understanding of early childhood development and the learning through play model
  • Experience and knowledge in ensuring culturally safe programs for diverse communities
  • Experience in working in an early childhood (0-8 years) service or system and strong foundations in early childhood development and/or early intervention programs for children and their families
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with families and relevant stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including working with families from a CALD background

Education and Qualifications

  • Minimum Cert III in early childhood development, community services or equivalent
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • Current NDIS Worker Check and SA Working with Children’s Check
  • A current driver’s licence (P2 minimum required)
