Job Description

About the Role

The Practice Lead, Community provides strategic and hands‑on leadership to embed high‑quality, person‑centred practice across community‑based supports, including Supported Independent Living (SIL), day programs and in‑home supports. The role ensures services are safe, compliant, outcomes‑driven and aligned with the NDIS, while building workforce capability.

  • Lead and embed best‑practice frameworks that support safe, consistent and compliant service delivery
  • Build workforce capability through coaching, mentoring and practice development across community services
  • Champion person‑centred, outcome‑focused approaches that maximise choice, independence and inclusion
  • Provide expert oversight of complex needs, risk management and restrictive practices within clinical governance frameworks
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and evaluation of community service models
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships with participants, families, teams and key external stakeholders

Desired Skills and Experience

Education and Qualifications

Essential

  • Significant experience in disability services, particularly in SIL and community programs
  • Strong knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and quality frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience in practice leadership, coaching, and workforce development
  • Experience managing complex behaviours and high-risk client scenarios
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • NDIS Worker Check and SA Working with Children Check

Desirable

  • Tertiary qualification in disability, social work, psychology, or related field
  • Experience in implementing evidence-based practice models (e.g. Active Support, PBS)
  • Experience working across both metro and regional service delivery
